Abstract
The normal Cyfra 21-1 that we are using is to use the numerical value within kit as
it as. That may not be considered as korean normal range, because the report about it
is from a foreign country. And, Cyfra 21-1 is the test for non-small cell lung cancer, so
we don't have to thick that, anyhow, smokers have the same influence as non- smokers
upon the result of the test.
Thus, we are going to set up the normal range by smoking, non-smoking, sex and
age etc. The normal range of this test has 0¡7.02ng/ml to apply M¡¾2S.D of each age.
But the range has 0¡5.65ng/ml excepting in the 60's, the highest breeding of lung
cancer, and 95.7% of the test range comes under it. The difference of the average
degree of smokers and non-smokers is 1.82ng/ml in a large degree and 0.28ng/ml in a
small degree. But, this is to take into account experimental mistakes and C.V (coefficient
of Variation: CV%) and Because the number of testing ages didn't keep the balance
there was no big difference.
We couldn't find the big differences sex but smokers are much higher than others
in the breeding of lung cancer, the 60¡70's. But women's smoking id less than men's.
It will be a mistake to check up on just the 40's not to test the ages. Having a small
range of women's smoking is because tested person were too small so, it was not easy
to compare.
The results are as follows:
The result of the experiment, if the normal range is 95.7% in the people tested,
regard less of smoking, non-smoking, sex and age etc, it will be good to choose
0¡5.65ng/ml that is higher than 0¡3.5ng/ml within kit.
